Let's see we have a Karate expert in Boxing? I'm guessing Nintendo was running out of ideas here, because this isn't kickboxing. I have no idea what the symbol next to him means, but he is the only character in Super Punch-Out!! to have it. There is no doubt that this guy is based on Bruce Lee.
Boxing Tips
The hardest part is getting the timing down to duck his flying kick. The fact it comes from a side angle makes it kind of tricky to time, but once you got the timing down you can concentrate on doing regular boxing.
